Abstract

The use of Android technology in Arabic language learning is increasingly relevant in the digital era because it provides flexible, accessible learning media and supports a variety of teaching methods. However, its implementation in Islamic educational environments still faces several obstacles. This study aims to identify the challenges and opportunities for using Android technology in Arabic language learning at the Bin Baz Islamic Center in Yogyakarta. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving teachers and students as informants. Data were collected through learning observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of Android application usage activities during the teaching and learning process. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the main challenges include limited teacher digital literacy, unstable internet access, more difficult classroom control when students use Android devices, and high levels of distraction that can disrupt learning concentration. Nevertheless, the study identified significant opportunities, such as access to more diverse learning resources, improved teacher digital competence, flexible learning without limitations of place and time, and the creation of more engaging learning experiences through interactive application features. Android technology has great potential to improve the effectiveness of Arabic language learning, provided it is supported by improved teacher competence and strengthened supporting infrastructure.
