THE INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF EDUCAPLAY GAMES ON BASIC UNDERSTANDING AND DISTINGUISHING INFLUENTIAL DYNASTIES IN ISLAMIC HISTORY

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using technology-based learning media, namely Educaplay, on students' understanding of the three major dynasties in Islamic history: Umayyah, Abbasid, and Andalusia. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through the results of game scores and qualitative responses from participants. Respondents were college students with an age range of 18-24 years from various semesters. Scores were obtained from the Educaplay game entitled 'Tarikh Education' with the Froggy Jumps game type. Qualitative data was collected through respondents' responses to the impressions, difficulties, and benefits of the game used. The results showed that a game-based approach can create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere and can improve memory and develop interest in learning Islamic history. Through an interactive media game called 'Educaplay Tarikh Education', this study aims to examine the effect of using learning media in helping students understand and distinguish the main characteristics of each dynasty. Although there are some technical and internal constraints, such as limited access to technology and differences in the number of evaluation questions for each person, the method can be used as an innovative and interesting learning media.
